What is Perimenopause?
Perimenopause means 'around menopause' which refers to the time surrounding the female body making its natural transition to menopause. This stage is also referred to as the ‘menopausal transition'. In the transition stage the menstrual cycle starts to become irregular and women may begin to experience symptoms such as hot flushes. Women can start Perimenopause at different ages.

Menopause is defined as when a woman’s ovaries no longer make oestrogen or progesterone, and their periods have stopped for one year. However there is more than one stage of menopause. Menopause is once a woman has experienced her final period and will experience hot flushes, vaginal dryness, sleep problems and mood swings. Menopause can be confusing and uncomfortable period in a women’s life, a healthy diet and a regular exercise routine can help regulate these symptoms however herbal tonics have successfully been used to help relieve menopausal symptoms for years.

What does the NHS about Menopause?
'The Menopause is when a woman stops having periods and is no longer able to get pregnant naturally.'

The majority of menopausal women can experience symptoms due to hormonal changes within the body, such as:

The 'Hit The Pause Button' blend has been carefully formulated with beneficial herbs and plants to help your body through this time, our blend includes:

Shatavari Root
A traditional herbal tonic that is extremely useful in combatting menopausal symptoms, particularly hot flashes, dryness, irregular memory and irritability. It contains shatavarins which provide oestrogenic stimulation when there is a lack of oestrogen.

Lady’s Mantle
The Lady’s Mantle herb is often referred to as a “women’s herb” as it’s leaves are used to remedy menopausal symptoms. It acts on the progesterone receptors in the body which can help reduce the occurrence of hot flashes, night sweats, anxiety and mood swings. It also reduces heavy bleeding which is beneficial in the perimenopause stage.

Red Clover
Red clover has been used for centuries as a herbal tonic as it contains isoflavones (a type of phtooestrogen).Phytoestrogens help alleviate the severity of some menopause symptoms as they boost the level of oestrogen.

Hawthorn Berry
Hawthorn provides relief from hot flashes and helps menopausal women sleep better and find comfort throughout the day. It also helps maintain normal bodily function as a circulation booster, blood pressure regulator, cholesterol fighter and digestive aide.

Vitex Angus Castus
Also known as the chaste tree Berry, Vitex is used as a therapeutic option for soothing the transitional symptoms experienced in menopause as it is a hormone regulator. It gently raises progesterone levels which is important in perimenopause as the oestrogen levels are a lot higher.

Sage

I love this tea!

Since starting to drink it - on average one to two cups a day - my brain fog has improved and I have been sleeping so much better. I feel a sense of calm after having a cup. I have also experienced no night sweats on the days I drink it. Drinking the tea is really helping with the symptoms I have been experiencing with peri menopause.
