An elegant 1.1 litre / 37 fl oz hand-blown glass carafe that filters your water using a traditional Japanese Binchotan charcoal method for a cleaner, purified taste. It comes with one binchotan active charcoal filter (6 month lifespan).

"Not only does this look and feel premium and minimalist, it makes great tasting water without the need to constantly buy more and more plastic replacement filters"

The Eau Carafe is a beautiful combination of materials, hand blown glass and a natural cork stopper. The borosilicate glass is skilfully hand blown and the natural cork is sustainably sourced in Portugal. The silicone cover on the cork makes it easier to clean and prolongs the life of the stopper.

The Eau Carafe comes with a Binchotan Charcoal Water Filter. It may seem counter intuitive to purify your drinking water with a stick of charcoal, but the Japanese have been doing it for centuries. Binchotan is an active carbon made from tree branches and is renowned for its ability to soften water, add good minerals and absorb unwanted tastes and odours, such as chlorine.

The hand blown glass has an organic feminine form that magnifies the beauty of the water it holds, but also makes it a delight to hold and pour from.

The carafe has been designed to make sure it fits in all fridge doors, so it is not too wide or high.

Please make sure your bottle is filled when placing your charcoal to avoid any breakages.

There’s many things you can do with Binchotan charcoal after you’ve finished using it: it removes bad smells if added to cat litter trays or nappy bins, it removes moisture from the air if you add it to your wardrobe or drawers, and it adds nutrients to the soil if you pop it in with your houseplants (break it up first).

A great find!

I have used brita water filters in the past but they are so big and chunky with so much plastic so when I came across this beautifully designed glass bottle with a natural filter I was very pleased! It fits into the fridge perfectly and the taste of the water is great!
