What does the NHS say about B6 for nausea?

Studies have shown vitamin B6 to be effective at reducing symptoms. Some research has suggested that women who have severe morning sickness have lower levels of vitamin B6 in their blood. Vitamin B6 is an important nutrient, as it helps us to use and store energy from foods.

What is Morning Sickness?

Morning sickness affects up to 80% of pregnant women and typically occurs within the first trimester of pregnancy. Symptoms include; nausea, vomiting and fatigue. These usually subside by week 16 to 20 and do not put your baby at risk. However if symptoms are extreme, seek professional medical advice as a severe form of morning sickness is hyperemesis gravidarum. This can lead to dehydration or malnutrition.

What does the NHS say about ginger for morning sickness?

Every pregnancy will be different but there are changes you can make to your diet and daily life to ease symptoms of morning sickness. Eating food and drinks containing ginger can soothe symptoms as there is evidence that ginger helps relieve nausea and vomiting.

Sugar, glucose syrup (sulphites), vegetable oil (certified sustainable palm oil), natural flavouring, vitamin B6 pyridoxine hydrochloride, emulsifier: sunflower lecithin.

Myrtle & Maude's herbalist recommends consuming when you feel a little peaky. Do not consume more than 12 sweets per day. Long-term use of B6 is inadvisable.
